December 6, 2019

 Dear Parents and Guardians-

We hope you enjoy the following updates from HMS!

A team of sixth grade students created our first ever school newspaper, entitled  Harrison Times! Check out the paper and meet the team: Gavin Rich, Jude Landry, Antonio Velazquez, Jay Duncan, Vagni Das, Camden-May Billings, Coltrane Vitailus, Josh Webber, Emma Shannon, Katya Fromuth, Eliana Goldman, Leah Carrol, Sebastien Silver, Spencer Parker, Alex Loder:

Congratulations to Iris Hubbard and Alex Walden, November recipients of the HMS/Rotary Student of the Month Awards! Liz Harder, Iris Hubbard and Morgan Cuthbert:

Kimberly Grover, Alex Walden and Brad C.:

Rod Corey and 8th grade students, Andi Cobaj and Nick Krah received a YEF grant for their phenomenal work on the HMS Robotics proposal, which will allow our students to engage with the engineering design process in fascinating ways! We are so grateful to YEF for their support of innovation in our schools!

Milo Sanokklis received the Steingart Music Award. The Steingart family established this scholarship for private music lessons prior to Mr. Steingart's passing in 2013. This award recognizes Milo's passion for music and his unrelenting dedication to improving his work. We are thrilled to celebrate this wonderful recognition with Milo and his family! The HMS community extends their deep gratitude to the Steingart family for making this opportunity possible for our students.

Milo and his parents, with Brad C., Mrs. Steingart and Kimberly Grover:

5th Grade students visited with their friends at Bay Square to share the Thanksgiving poems they wrote for this special occasion:

Please see the attached video link to learn about another special 5th grade project. Thanks to Kelly Conley for designing these shirts for our 5th grade students. HUGE appreciation to the PTO for making this possible!
