Dear Parents and Guardians-

As part of our continuing focus on our students' safety, we stay in close touch with Amy Bongard and Eric Klein (Assistant Principal and Principal of Yarmouth High School) about any issues involving our middle school students. One of the things we have noticed this fall is the increase in the number of middle school students who attend high school athletic events. Attendance at these competitions is a fun, exciting, positive experience-we are pleased that HMS students have this opportunity.

We do need to address the safety issues that might occur when students attend these events without their parents. We do not have a way to supervise students who choose not to watch the game and spend time away from the turf field near the woods, on the baseball field, etc.

Moving forward, we are asking that parents attend high school athletic events with their children. This will ensure that our students have the supervision necessary to make appropriate decisions regarding their safety.

Please let us know if you have any questions or if we can help in any way.

Thank you for your support and partnership-
