It has been a busy and productive fall in our school.

We survived Halloween! I hope you and your family had a fun night of Trick or

The time change is a good time to be reminded about the importance of sleep.
The National Sleep Foundation recommends 10-11 hours of sleep for school-
aged children (ages 5-10). We know that sleep deprivation impairs learning and
recall, so there really is nothing better than a good night’s sleep.

Winter Reminders:

Chapped Lips
As the days get colder, many of our students are getting very chapped lips. It
would be helpful if you could get your child some kind of lip protectant that they
could keep in their backpacks to use as needed.

Children are starting to wear boots to school, which is wonderful for the
playground, but not wonderful for all day in school. Please send in a pair of shoes
(slippers are not acceptable) for the children to wear during the day. On days
when they have PE with Mr. Lipman they MUST wear sneakers or they won’t be
able to participate in gym class. This is a safety issue.

Upcoming Events:

On Tuesday, November 22, our Community Meeting will focus on Thanksgiving.

We will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Yarmouth Food Pantry.
Boxes will be placed in each classroom in which children can place donations. A
notice with more information will go home with your children later this month.

Please check Lost and Found in the gym. Prior to the Thanksgiving break, we will
clear the cubbies and send everything to Goodwill.

Please note the following upcoming dates. Also check our website at for on-going school information.

As we approach the season of giving thanks, I want to thank you for the honor of
working with your children each and every day.
