Dear Rowe Families,
We had a very productive staff day yesterday preparing for our Distance Learning for the next couple of weeks. I know that teachers were in touch and sent out a plethora of information to you by the end of the day. Please let your child’s teacher know if you have any questions. All teachers have posted their daily office hours. If you have a question that doesn’t require immediate attention, you can send an email and the teachers will get back to you within a reasonable amount of time.
SEESAW CLASS APP
You have likely already received communication from your child's teacher explaining the "Seesaw Class " platform. I have included the "Downloading and Logging Into the Seesaw Class App" directions again here: https://target.brightarrow.com/userfiles/29852/files/Logging in to Seesaw at Home.pdf
Please note that this is different than the "Seesaw Family App" that you have used in the past. If you have any difficulty downloading the Seesaw Class App start by communicating with your child's teacher. If they are not able to help you troubleshoot you can reach out to our technology integrator Todd Abbott at todd_abbott@yarmouthschools.org.
For the next two weeks, your child will receive assignments in the following content areas:
Reading
Writing
Math
Specials - Art, Music, and PE.
All of these assignments can be found on the "Seesaw Class" platform. They will be updated daily and teachers will review student work and provide feedback.
ATTENDANCE
Although the distance learning model we are using is asynchronous, we are still required by the state of Maine to keep daily attendance. We will be doing this through the attached form:
We need your help! Bookmark this form and when your child logs in to look at their assignments each day, please fill out the form. It will only take a few seconds to complete.
Mrs. Murray will keep track of attendance and sickness by communicating with you if students are not marked as "present" each day. We appreciate your help and support in verifying that your child is engaging in the work for each given day. You can leave messages on the office answering machine at any time of day or evening if you need to report that your child is ill.
YARMOUTH SCHOOL DISTRICT AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES
As we deal with the challenges of Covid-19 we also want to make sure that we are supporting the social-emotional health of our students and families. Here is the link to a letter from the Yarmouth District Student Support Team: https://target.brightarrow.com/userfiles/29852/files/Yarmouth School District and Community Resources.pdf . This letter provides some quality, comprehensive resources that can help you support your children and families during this difficult time. I encourage you to review these resources and reach out to our Student Support professionals at Rowe if they can be of any help.
Thank you for your support and flexibility these last few days. I feel very fortunate to work in such a supportive community. It is truly amazing to see how everyone has stepped up to help one another as we work through our current circumstances. Be well and please reach out with any questions you may have. I will be in the office from 8-4 each day. I can be reached by phone at 846-3771 and via email at susan_lobel@yarmouthschools.org
Sincerely,
Susan Lobel, Principal
